The Shandong General Social Survey (SGSS) is jointly carried out by the Institute of  Governance of Shandong University, the School of Political Science and Public Administration of Shandong University, the China Survey and Data Center of Renmin University of China, the Department of Sociology of the School of Philosophy and Social Development of Shandong University and the League Committee of Shandong University. The survey was divided into 52 groups, covering 17 cities in Shandong Province, with a planned duration of about three weeks. SGSS is committed to collecting data from various levels of society, community, family and individual in Shandong Province, summarizing the trend of social change, discussing issues of great scientific and practical significance, establishing a high-quality scientific research database of comprehensive social conditions, better understanding of social development in Shandong Province, and providing economic and social development for Shandong Province. Major theoretical and policy issues provide high-level and distinctive research results and policy recommendations.
